What is the best season to make this recipe?

While oven-baked fries are a timeless comfort food suitable for any season.

I love to make them any time I want something really delicious and healthy!

What are the health benefits of this dish?

Not only are my Mediterranean Oven Baked Fries bursting with flavor, but they also offer a lot of health benefits.

Potatoes are a rich source of vitamins and minerals, including potassium, vitamin C, and fiber, which promote heart health and aid digestion.

Additionally, olive oil, is a staple of the Mediterranean diet, but you already know that. 🙂 My recipes are filled with olive oil.

The herbs and spices add depth of flavor and potential health benefits, such as anti-inflammatory properties from rosemary and oregano.

Where can I buy the required ingredients?

You can find all the ingredients needed at your local grocery store or farmer’s market.

Look for fresh, high-quality potatoes, preferably russet or Yukon Gold for the best texture.

The spices and herbs can typically be found in the spice aisle, while extra virgin olive oil is often located in the oil section.

Can I substitute any of the ingredients?

While I recommend sticking to my original recipe for the most authentic Mediterranean flavor experience, there are some substitutions you can consider.

If you prefer a milder heat, you can omit the chili flakes or reduce the amount to suit your taste.

Feel free to experiment with different herbs and spices such as dill, parsley, dried basil, or even red paprika to customize the flavor profile to your liking.

Additionally, you can explore alternative cooking oils, such as avocado oil which is fantastic and healthy, or grapeseed oil, although they may change the taste.

Can I make this dish part of a menu?

      Absolutely!

These Oven Baked Fries make a delightful addition to any menu, whether you’re hosting a casual party with your friends or preparing a special meal for loved ones.

For an appetizer, start your meal with delicious Bacon Wrapped Asparagus or Ahi Tuna Salad.

You can serve them with Veal Cutlets as the main dish.

For a dessert, go with my Apple Cinanamon CakeKiwi Pavlova, Chocolate Raspberry Tart, or Raspberry Pavlova.

Which drinks pair well with this dish?

To complement the bold flavors of these Mediterranean Oven Baked Fries, I recommend pairing them with refreshing beverages.

Crisp white wines, such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, Encruzado provide a perfect balance to the richness of the fries.

Keep in mind, that light and fruity red wines, like Beaujolais or Grenache, offer a complementary contrast.

For non-alcoholic options, consider serving sparkling water infused with fresh lemon or herbal iced tea for a refreshing accompaniment.

How long can I store the leftovers?

If you happen to have any leftovers (although they’re so delicious, they may not last long!), you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.

To reheat, simply place the fries on a baking sheet and warm them in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes, or until heated through and crispy.

      Recipe tips & tricks:

      • To achieve perfectly crispy fries, be sure to cut the potatoes into uniform shapes to ensure even cooking.
      • Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet, as this can cause the fries to steam rather than crisp up. Spread them out in a single layer for optimal results.
      • Feel free to customize the seasoning blend to suit your taste preferences. Add more or less of the herbs and spices to enjoy your flavor combination.

Enjoy the Mediterranean Oven Baked Fries recipe!
